Quality Meats Scotland

Campbell Brothers North site in Bonnyrigg, Scotland is Quality Meats Scotland (QMS) assured, providing a provenance guarantee.

Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) are the public body responsible for helping the Scottish red meat sector improve its efficiency and profitability, and maximise its contribution to Scotland’s economy.

Meat prep

QMS market the PGI labelled Scotch Beef and Scotch Lamb brands and promote Scottish pork products under the Specially Selected Pork banner.

Their internationally recognised assurance schemes cover more than 90% of livestock farmed for red meat in Scotland. They offer consumers in the the legal guarantee that the meat they buy has come from animals that have spent their whole lives being raised to some of the world’s strictest welfare standards.

Scotland’s beef, lamb and pork producers make an important contribution to the country’s rural economy, contributing over £2.1 billion to the annual GDP of Scotland and supporting around 50,000 jobs in the farming, agricultural supply and processing sectors.

With hundreds of years of tradition behind them, Scottish farmers pride themselves on meeting the high standards of today’s modern meat consumers, at home and abroad.

We regularly undergo audits for those customers requiring Food for Life accreditation. Food for Life is a Soil Association programme designed to encourage making good food the easy choice for everyone. Food for Life work with schools, nurseries, hospitals and care homes, helping them build knowledge and skills. This engages children and parents, staff, patients and visitors, caterers, carers and the wider community to create a powerful voice for long-term change.
